In this initial design phase of the study, I aim to honor and preserve the heritage of the Berlin Wall through a rigorous assessment of its enduring impact on Berlin. Erected in 1961, the Wall was a concrete manifestation of political tensions, physically and ideologically dividing East and West Berlin until its fall in 1989.

My approach integrates landscape architecture to resonate with Berlin’s current urban fabric, reflecting on how the Wall shaped the city's landscape and psyche. The goal is not merely to remember history but to explore it as a foundation for future urban opportunities. Berlin, with its layered past and vibrant present, is ripe for such rediscovery. I believe this project can reveal new paths forward, transforming historical scars into sources of inspiration for urban development.
