TREE DEPICTION: UNDERSTANDING THE ACTUAL PATTERN OF TREES
I sometimes get bogged down in endless detail when depicting plants. I am very detail-oriented and want to explore the beautiful patterns of these subtle structures, but this is detrimental to creating botanical illustrations.
Rather than creating, it is better understood as a conversation with these beings. As I translate the plants in my vision into lines on paper, I analyze, understand, and respect these groups of people with whom we live in symbiosis. Therefore, it is crucial to reject those vague or even wrong impressions and concepts in my mind so that I can observe and distinguish them.
A big thanks to my dear friend and mentor, Chloe Hawkins.
